ACMT Scraper

This module will provide you with the basic skills, knowledge and information to safely operate a Scraper.
Participants will be able to:

  • Drive and operate a Scraper Loader safely to the RIIMPO312A Conduct Scraper Operations & OR the RIIMPO325A Conduct Civil Construction Scraper Operations level
  • Machine and General Safety
  • Scraper Terminology
  • Control Functions
  • Pre-start Inspections
  • Start-up and Shut-down Procedures
  • Operating Procedures
  • Apron settings for loading and unloading
  • Bulk excavation
  • Step cutting
  • Spreading to levels
  • Stockpiling
  • Working in tandem
  • Working with dozers
  • Operating on inclines
  • Cutting drains

The following conditions are not requirements for our course but do apply to most construction & mine sites:

  • "HR" Class Licence
  • Drug & Alcohol test (at point of interview)
  • Police Clearance

Training conditions are simulated to a mining/civil work environment in which:

  • Steel capped safety footwear and suitable clothing are essential
  • Sunscreen is advisable
  • Hardhats and vests are provided
  • Course manual, notepads, etc are provided

Assessment methods are of written, theory and practical observation. Therefore if you have any literacy problems please advise ACMT Operator Training Staff at the point of Application.

Favourable assessment outcomes from this training result in a Statement of Attainment.

COURSE DURATION

  • 4 hours for experienced operators, assessment* only, must supply work history
* Assessments conducted on site

CERTIFICATION

On successful completion you will be issued with a Notice of Satisfactory Assessment (SafeWork SA), statement of Attainment and a wallet sized plastic card stating the unit achieved.
